Sri Jayan Bharathakshetra had started his dance career in his Young age as a Student of Sri Sasi Thiruvallam. Sri Jayan Bharathakshetra is an Outstanding Scholar in different art forms like Mohiniyattam, Keralanadanam, Kathakali, Ottanthullal, Bharathanatyam , Kuchipudi, Odissi, Contemporary dance & Kalaripayattu.Sri Jayan Bharathakshetra has got opportunity of getting trained by various eminent teachers.Padmasree Dr. GuruGopinath, Sri Nattuvam Paramasiva Menon, Smt. Kalmandalam Kalyani Kutti Amma, Smt. Kalakshethram Vilasini, Sri Keerikkadu Sankarapillai, Sri Thrinath Maharana, Sri Kalamandalam Pathanapuram Biju, Sri Chengarapilli Anujan, Sri Bhaskara Pillai, Sri Chandran, Smt.Daksha Seth, Smt.Margi Sathi are some Scholars who maneuvered Sri Jayan. Sri Jayan perpetually bids his knowledge to the novices, he is a very humble Person who is eternally eageristic to enrich his Knowledge.
We can acknowledge the hardwork and dedication of Sri Jayan through his fascinating dance choreography, “Kunchan Nambiar”, based on the life of Kunchan Nambiar ;” Aadhi Kavya Natyanjali”, on the base of works by Sri Swathi Thirunal, Sri Erayimman Thambi & Thyagaraja Bhagavathar ,“ Kalachakram”, a light to human Culture; are only a few examples which parade the genius & devotedness of him.
Sri Jayan Bharathakshetra is invariably glad to instruct the novice. His Students range from 3yrs to 70yrs which he considers as Godsend. He trains all the Students with care & Support.
In the Year 2011, Sri Jayan Bharathakshetra started a Youth wing Called ‘’ Bharatham” for the personality development of the age group 13yrs-19yrs. In a very short period, in the year 2014 itself, “Bharatham” got an opportunity to perform in the Common Wealth Youth Dance Festival held at UK. It is considered as honor to the team Bharatham.
Sri Jayan worked as the Chief Instructor of Indian dances for 10 yrs in Dance Ihayami, UK, During that period he was able to perform in the presence of British Queen at West Minister Abbey on 24 March 2011.
The members from the Common Wealth Countries were also distinguished as the viewers. It was an Unforgettable moment in the life of Sri Jayan.
Sri Jayan alms fee concession for kids who go through financial hardships. He conducts different necessary acts for them. Monthly programmes like “Kavya poojayum Pustaka Charchayum”, “ Aksharasloka vedhi”, “ Kathakali Club”, are some of them. A poetry writing competition is also conducted for Kids.
